Hazzard Homecoming Brings The Whole Dang World Together! |
What do you get when you put John Schneider, Tom Wopat, Catherine Bach, James Best, Sonny Shroyer, Rick Hurst and Ben Jones all together? You get the living, breathing, Hazzard County experience in a way that only Hazzard Homecoming can deliver! Set in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain area of Virginia, you'll see dozens of General Lees, thousands of happy Dukes fans, and priceless memories in the making. It's been hinted that this may be one of the last times the Dukes cast will be together in one big event. If you've never been to a Dukes shindig, don't put it off until it's too late!
Hazzard Homecoming takes place August 11 & 12, at the Ben Venue Racecourse, intersection of Hwy 211 and Route 729 in Amissville, VA. Those who have already booked motels based upon the previous Sperryville location shouldn't worry; this is just a few miles down the road. Besides the Dukes cast and umpteen General Lees, there's live music and entertainment all weekend long. Visit Cootersplace.com for all the details! We encourage ya'll to share your photos and stories about Hazzard Homecoming with us at the HazzardNet.com Forums and our Facebook page!
CMT Annoys Dukes of Hazzard Fans With Random Schedule |
|
CMT has treated the Dukes like second (or third) cousins for a long time. The Dukes used to be aired around midnight or later. Then they were taken off the schedule for a few weeks, but reappeared later in the form of single-day marathons on Thursdays. These airings were also erratic, some Thursdays having no Dukes on at all. And now...who the heck knows. We are not finding the Dukes of Hazzard listed on CMT's schedule in the next two weeks. Hopefully the Dukes will return to a normal broadcast schedule as the fall TV season starts. Whenever we get wind of the Dukes being on the air, we'll post about it!

Booyah! Louisiana "Dukes of Hazzard Family Reunion" Sept 29, 2012! |
What do you get when a lawyer sponsors a Dukes of Hazzard event? Since our legal team advised us not to answer that question, you'll have to go to the Dukes of Hazzard Family Reunion & Car Show in Livingston Parish to find out! This is another do-it-yourself-dukesfest similar to the "Hazzard Comes to Galax" event last June. In other words, it's put together by area notables and business folks, and they've put some thought into it.
The cast lineup is impressive. In addition to John, Tom, Cathy, Jimmie, Sonny, Rick, and Ben, cast appearances will include Byron Cherry and Don Pedro Colley. Musical acts include Grammy winner Billy Dean and "Urban Cowboy" Johnny Lee. Admission is FREE to the public; the event happens rain or shine on Sept 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We're not sure what's more amazing. The fact that there's three DukesFest-type events in 2012, or the fact that Tom Wopat is showing up at two of them, OR the fact that this last one has a promoter by the real name of...Hogg. Somebody pinch us.

2012 has been a great year for Dukes of Hazzard fans, and it's not over yet! There have been a ton of cast appearances throughout the year at car shows, county fairs, concerts and more. Either the cast is having one last big yeehaa before everybody retires...or, they're having as much fun as we are. We sincerely hope it's the latter. The Dukes of Hazzard aired its last episode 27 years ago, but when you look at the scale of events happening today, it like seems the show never stopped. Maybe it's because Hazzard County is real, enduring as long as good ol' boys (and girls) and orange 1969 Chargers remain in existence.
HazzardNet is proud to be a part of the Dukes legacy! Special thanks go to creative contributors Hoss C. and Roger Duke for always going the extra mile. We also thank all our members and Facebook friends for making HazzardNet what it is today. Until next time, The HazzardNet Staff MeadowMufn, MaryAnne and Brian
